Started Chess	Started in 1964 with School team. Progressed
		rapidly to Junior Warwickshire side; now in
		decline. 

Former Clubs	Mutual Chess Circle (Joined around 1965 to 1971)
		Eccles CC (Manchester League) 1971 to 1976
		Quinborne CC (before the Warley amalgamation)
		StJames CC
		Joined Halesown 1999/2000 season.   

Best Chess 1	Played in the same team as old Birmingham 
		stalwarts Cafferty, Gibbs, Ritson-Morry
		for a week-end team called 'The Nomads' 
		back in the 70's.

Best Chess 2	Played Nigel Short in the Manchester League when
		he was paying for Bolton. I got a draw and 
		remember being annoyed allowing a little squirt
		in short trousers getting the better of me
		(Sorry Nigel, if you are reading this).

Best Chess 3	Being a member of the teams to win the BDCL 1st
 		Division 3 times (St. James twice, Halesowen
		once)

Worst Chess 1	Played in a congress in Paignton many years ago.
		One opponent dressed as a latter day hippy and
		was bare-footed. To aid his concentration, he
		frequently picked at his feet. At the end of
		the game I refused to shake hands with him - 
		normally I am a very sociable person.  

Worst Chess 2	Increasing inconsistency.
