OK. I've broken my losing run. Play safe. No mistakes. Double-check everything.
1. e4 e5 2. Nc3 I know there's some tricky tactics in this. I'll do my patent version which seems to throw people.
2... Bb4 3. a3 Bxc3 4. bxc3 Nf6 5. d3 Well this looks good. He has doubled and isolated pawns, and I have a piece developed.
5... Nc6 6. Nf3 d5 7. exd5 Nxd5 8. Bb2 Nb6 In case of c4
9. c4 Several possibilities here. Na4 or f6 or Qe7. Wait! I've seen a better one! Nd4. This stops his attack on e5 and gets a piece into the heart of his position.
9... Nd4 10. Nxe5 Only trouble is, it's lost a pawn. Maybe I can get it back.
10... O-O 11. c3 Nf5 12. Be2 Re8 13. Nf3 Qe7 This stops him castling.
14. Ra2 I thought about Na4, but Ba1 stops the threat.
14... Bd7 15. Ba1 Ba4 16. Qb1 Rad8 17. O-O There's been a lot of potential tactics. I'm tempted by Qxe2, Rxe2, Rxe2, but I don't think it gives me anything.
17... Bc6 18. d4 Nh4 19. Nxh4 Qxh4 Now I'm thinking of things like...Bxg2 Kxg2 Qg5, but I don't think it works.
20. d5 Bd7 21. Bd3 I want to play Bh3, leading to a perpetual, but Bxh7 Qxh7 loses me a pawn.
21... g6 22. c5 I'm worried about c4 followed by Qb2, making it difficult to stop the mate, but I think I can get away with this.
22... Nxd5 23. Qxb7 Phew! That's ok. I can play my Bh3 now. I'm very short of time, but so is he. Maybe this will confuse him. I'm fed up playing steady, and if I'm not careful we'll have an adjournment. This should get me at least a perpetual.
23... Bh3 24. gxh3 Qxh3 25. f3 I hadn't seen this, but computer thinks Qh4 still wins with a mate on d7 eventually.
25... Nf4 Computer thought Ne3 was better, but this still wins.
26. Bc4 Computer still thinks Qh4 wins. However, I have only seconds left, and I'm a human.
26... Re3 27. Qxc7 Rf8 Chicken out, but computer now thinks I'm lost anyway.
28. Qxf4 Resigns.
