Over the years, I’ve shown quite a few games against Warley Quinborne, most of which I’ve won. It obviously upsets them, because every time I lose, they ask whether the game is going to be put on the site. So here are a few games I have lost which I’ve promised to feature, but never got round to. I’m always more motivated to show my wins!

This one is from a few years ago. I am White against Phil Bull. He has just played Be5 threatening my pawn. The only thing I can protect it with is my Queen, so my bishop has to move. Where do I move it to? That’s right, Bh6??. D’oh! I thought I could stop him castling and maybe even pick up the rook. I just forgot that Nxh6 was quite a good response. Needless to say, I lost. During the game, both Phil and John Fahy asked me if it was a sac that went wrong or a blunder, which was quite flattering. Obviously they don’t know how bad I actually am!
I was also intending to show John Pakenham’s victory over me last year, as an antidote to my famous 6-move win. This time I had a cracking attack, but he defended very well and eventually won a pawn and the game. Unfortunately, we’ve both lost the score! If it ever turns up, it will be featured (Webmaster permitting - "It will be a pleasure" - Webmaster).
Finally, here’s one I lost recently against Clive Dent, an ‘ungraded’ ringer in Dudley Division 2. He completely took me to pieces. Here’s the position after 6 moves.

I’m Black, but the position looks reasonable. Four moves later…

I fought hard, but inevitably lost from here.
