1. e4 c5 Sicilian. See, I do know openings! Now I think I'm supposed to move a knight but I can't remember which one. Don't suppose it matters much.
2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Nc3 e6 4. d4 cxd4 5. Nxd4 Pretty standard up to now. I wonder if he'll swap knights?
5... Nxd4 6. Qxd4 Qc7 I wonder why he did that? Oh, I suppose Bc5.
7. Be3 a6 That's a shame. I was hoping to put my Knight on b5. I wonder if Na4 leads to anything?
8. O-O-O Ne7 This is looking quite good. I don't like my queen that far out so early, but I've got most things developed and he hasn't. Now how do I convert the development advantage into something better?
9. Be2 I did this just to get my last minor piece out, and couldn't see a better square.
9... b5 I've seen a chance. If he plays this wrong, I win his queen, otherwise it's a queen swap, and my development should win.
10. Qd6 Qxd6 He saw that Qa5 or Qd8 loses the queen after Bb6.
11. Rxd6 Nc6 12. Rd2 Bb4 Another person who thinks doubled pawns matter. If he swaps this, he loses a good pice for a not very good one. I'll just carry on developing.
13. Rhd1 Bxc3 14. bxc3 O-O Shame he managed to castle. Still, he's pretty blocked in. I'll carry on with that and see if anything happens.
15. Rd6 f6 He's done that so he can play Rf7 protecting the pawn. Bc5 might be good now, or c4. I'll consolidate my defence. Afterwards I thought this might have been a wasted move.
16. Kb2 Rf7 17. Bc5 Planning the decisive combination.
17... Rb8 He thought a long time over this but missed the key point. Can you spot the winning move?
18. Rxc6 If dxc6, Rd8ch Rf8, Rxf8 mate. Neat, huh?
18... g6 19. Rc7 That should tie him down even more, and I might win his queens rook soon.
19... Bb7 There's a pawn going free, but I'm after bigger fish.
20. Ba7 Rd8 21. Rxb7 d6 This seems strange. 2 pieces down, and he offers to swap rooks. I look at Rb8, but it doesn't seem to be any better, and a bit less certain, so...
22. Rxf7 Kxf7 23. Be3 e5 24. c4 Rb8 25. cxb5 axb5 26. Rxd6 Black Resigns
